Custom means just about anything.  Custom means you get a basic site, but you need an application, or several applications, to interface with your clientelle, your board of directors, advertisers, manipulate data to comply with some local, state or federal regulation, tie into a legacy computer system or proprietary database, scrape data from the Internet and include in your site, or anything else you can think of that is technology enabled.
